Here's a couple of freelance projects I completed recently. For the record, I don't really like horses.

foxboroughridingclub.com

Foxborough Riding Club

I built this site in December 2007, and completed a redesign in May 2009. Foxborough Riding Club wanted a new website that they could easily update themselves, so I build them a Content Management System (CMS) along with the site. Using this CMS, they are able to update and maintain the almost all of the text and images on the site.

Foxborough Riding Club holds a number of competitions over the year, and users enter the competetitions via a form on the site. Foxborough uses the CMS to export all the entries as a spreadsheet and use this to easily mark times and placings during the competition. The results are then posted on the results section of the website.

Other features include an RSS feed, photo upload and auto thumbnail generation and usage tracking via Google Analytics.

GMJ Associates

GMJ Associates are Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics Consultants based in Dublin. They approached me to design and develop a site with full content management, and a blog with a commenting system.

I used the CodeIgniter PHP Framework for this project, along with FCKEditor as a content editor. I built the blog from scratch, so that it would be indistinguishable from the rest of the site. The blog administrator can add, delete, and edit posts, as well as moderate comments.

The idea behind this site is that the customer is able to control the design and layout of the content with ease. The challenges here lay with building the CMS, as the customer is responsible for a large degree of the design.
